MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Hello!

I'm Sandy.

Pleasant Valley Art Studio was founded by professional exhibiting artist and educator Sandy Shaw.

With over 25 years of professional art experience, Sandy brings both mastery and passion to her teaching. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums, and her artwork has been commissioned by major organizations including Google.

In addition to her professional art career, Sandy has extensive experience teaching students of all ages—from young beginners to serious teen artists and adults returning to creativity later in life.

Her teaching style is deeply encouraging, highly skilled, and focused on helping each student develop both technical ability and creative confidence.

Students learn not only how to draw and paint, but how to truly see—and how to trust their creative voice.

Sandy believes that creativity is not reserved for the naturally gifted. It is a skill that can be taught, nurtured, and developed in every person.
